Warranties
The manufacturer’s warranty terms are available for you to read before you buy. We keep copies at the presentation (paper or on a tablet) and link the current booklet on this page. Ask your project manager if you want to see them.
1. The product: manufacturer’s warranty
Every unit on your contract is covered by the manufacturer’s limited warranty, not by AVW. That booklet is the controlling document for glass, frames, hardware, and factory defects. Coverage, duration, transfer rules, and who pays labor on a product claim are whatever that manufacturer wrote.
We will:
- Identify the brand and series on your proposal
- Make the current manufacturer warranty available before you buy (at the presentation, and on this page)
- Help you open a manufacturer claim if a unit fails in a way that booklet covers
We will not:
- Rewrite, extend, or stand in for the manufacturer
- Call the manufacturer’s terms “our lifetime warranty”
If the manufacturer’s warranty is transferable, that is their process (notice windows and fees are common). If it is original-owner only, selling the house usually ends it.
The brands we sell, and the manufacturer’s own current warranty pages:
Manufacturer | What we sell | Warranty terms (manufacturer’s page) |
Anlin | Vinyl windows and patio doors
Simonton | Vinyl windows and patio doors
Milgard | Vinyl and other window/patio-door lines
Windsor | Wood-clad replacement windows
WinDor | Multi-slide, folding, and other window/door systems
Western Window Systems | Multi-slide, folding, and moving glass walls
Lincoln | Wood-clad replacement windows
ProVia | Entry doors, windows, patio doors
Therma-Tru | Fiberglass and steel entry doors
Masonite | Entry doors | |
Simpson | Wood entry doors |
Your proposal names the brand and series. Open that row. Those pages are the manufacturer’s terms, not ours. They change; if a link is stale, we will get you the booklet that matches the unit on your contract.
2. The install: our one-year workmanship warranty
AVW warrants labor, ancillary installation materials, and work we provided against defects for one year after project completion.
That is a limited warranty from American Vision Windows of Arizona LLC (ROC #267599).
Who is covered | The owner named on the contract, for the property where we installed |
What is covered | Defects in our workmanship and in the installation materials we supplied (fasteners, sealants and flashings we installed, trim we installed) |
How long | One year, starting on the date the project is complete |
What we will do | Inspect and, if it is our defect, repair or re-perform the work at no charge for covered labor and covered materials |
How to get service | Call the showroom that sold the job, or (888) 290-2566, during the one-year period. Describe the issue and the completion date. |
After that year, product issues go to the manufacturer. Workmanship issues after year one are not covered by this limited warranty.
What we do not cover
These are not defects in our work, and they are not covered by our one-year warranty:
- The window or door unit itself (that is the manufacturer)
- Flashings, building paper, framing, stucco, roofing, or other building components we did not install
- Leaks, water intrusion, or other damage that comes from those existing conditions
- Damage from misuse, impact, or failure to maintain the product as the manufacturer requires
- Doors or windows subjected to unnatural water pressure, including high-pressure washing or water directed at the unit at high force. Ordinary weather is not the same thing as a pressure washer. Doors are not designed to be watertight under that kind of load.
Arizona monsoon rain on a properly installed unit is ordinary weather. Pressure-washing a door, or aiming a hose at the head and sill, is not.
How the two warranties work together
A fogged insulated glass unit or a failed lock is usually a manufacturer claim. A failed seal we applied, a loose nail-fin we set, or trim we installed that comes off in year one is usually an AVW claim. If it is unclear, call us first. We will not bounce you between “installer vs manufacturer” without looking at it.
Arizona ROC
We are licensed Arizona contractors, ROC #267599. You may file a Registrar of Contractors complaint about workmanship. That process is separate from these warranties and has its own time limits. It is not an extra product warranty.
This page describes our limited workmanship warranty and how manufacturer warranties fit. The signed contract and the manufacturer’s booklet control if anything conflicts. Other rights may exist under state law.
